When you move in you will be provided with instructions on how to download a pass that will grant you free travel on the DIGS shuttle bus during university time.

The app will show the times that the bus will be leaving Storthes Hall Park and the university so you can plan your journey – it takes around 15 to 20 minutes. The bus will go directly from the university to the accommodation, and will only stop at Morrisions and Lidl if you ring the bell on the bus. If you want to get on the bus at one of these stops, you will just need to stick your arm out when you see the 398 or 399 services.

The bus pass is only for the 398/399 buses and if you wish to use other buses to get out and about, you will need to either pay in cash, or by contactless card, and let the driver know where you want to go when you get on. Huddersfield bus station, a 10 minute walk from the university bus stop, provides access by bus to Leeds, Oldham, Bradford and Halifax.

Huddersfield train station is a 10 minute walk from the university bus stop and you can reach anywhere through connections right across the UK including London. If you are planning to travel by train a lot, we would advise getting the Trainline app, this will give you cheaper tickets, and you can book tickets in advance from your smart phone.
