As part of our maintenance work on site, we have annual checks of all of the fire safety equipment on site by our external contractor. We also carry out fire drills twice a year, normally once in the autumn and once in the spring.
You will be notified in advance of these fire drills, and you will be required to vacate the building to the evacuation point at the agreed time. We do this so that we can make sure that everything works as it should, that you all know what to do in an emergency.
We also test the fire alarms in the blocks on a Wednesday morning between 11am and 2pm. During fire alarm tests, the fire alarm will just go off for a short burst, and you do not need to vacate.
