If you receive a positive test result, then you should follow the steps below:

  • Notify the DIGS team by raising a ticket at support.digstudent.co.uk. It is vital that you do this so that we can offer you the necessary support, and so that we can protect staff and students who may be vulnerable or at risk. If you are unsure how to raise a ticket on the support portal, please visiting the 'raising a support ticket section'
  • Stay at home – you and anyone you live with should stay at home and not have visitors until your isolation period has ended. You should only leave your home to take a test.
  • Let the University know – contact the university to inform them that you have tested positive for coronavirus, this allows them to offer you the necessary support. You can notify them at www.hud.ac.uk/important-update/
  • Let your flatmates know – you should notify your flatmates as soon as possible (we will also do this on your behalf) so that they know to self-isolate too. We will provide you with the necessary support during your self-isolation period including access to deliveries, laundry support, and more. 

Finally – try not to panic! We understand that it’s a worrying time, however for most people Coronavirus is just a mild illness. We understand that it’s difficult to stay in your room for a prolonged period, however we will be here to support you every step of the way.
