We offer a regular and dedicated bus service provided by First Bus operating between Storthes Hall Park and the main university campus at Queensgate during the academic year. A less frequent service operates out of term time. The service ceases completely at the end of the 44-week contract with DIGS in July and starts again when the new academic year begins in September.
For 2021/22 your bus pass will be free - you will be able to pick up a leaflet when you move in that will have information on how to claim this free pass. You will need to download ‘First Bus’ from the App Store or Google Play, select the route 399/398. Please be aware the pass gives you free travel until 9.00pm.
After 9.00pm a surcharge of £1.50 for single or £2.50 for return trips apply. The bus pass will cost you just £40 for the duration of the academic year.
The journey takes approximately 15-20 minutes and the service operates every half hour Monday – Friday with a more frequent service during peak times.
The bus will stop at Morrisons on the way to town if you wish, just ring the bell or let the driver know. You can hail the bus back to Storthes from stop C on Penistone Road.
At weekends the bus operates less frequently and will stop on the High Street, Huddersfield too. Check the timetable for times.
Timetables are available in the reception area at Storthes Hall Park and in the accommodation office at uni as well as on the First Bus App.
